How Privacy Laws Impact Nonprofit Organizations

The Privacy Law Issues Faced by Nonprofits workshop addresses the gamut of privacy law challenges nonprofits face. The program will begin with a synopsis of the impact state-specific, federal and international privacy legislation have on nonprofits and continue on to a discussion of how nonprofits can best utilize and develop privacy policies and practices. A discussion of real-life issues encountered by U.S. nonprofits will then take place, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of protection platforms that resulted in the loss of millions of dollars. A discussion of the role of the Board, Officers, Privacy Officer, third-party vendors, free sources of information and ideal organization culture in terms of privacy recognition will conclude the workshop.
